GRINTER -WILLIAMSON. I am researching my husband's family line in
Kansas. He has a great-great-grandfather who lived in Stafford Co. in
1883, and married in June of that year in Rice Co. to Ida Williamson.
His name was Frederick H. Grinter. In doing some research of the
Grinter name in Kansas I came across the name of Moses Grinter who
operated a ferry in what is now Wyandotte Co. in the 1830s. In one of
the articles about Moses Grinter mention is made of his children but
does not name them. Can you tell me how I might find out more about the
Grinter family? I've found several references to Moses Grinter in books
on Kansas history but it's always about the ferry he operated or his
work among the Delaware Indians. (His wife, Annie Marshall, was 1/2
Delaware Indian.) Thank you for any help you may be able to give me.
