Topic: George and Elizabeth (Hopkins) Eldridge
From: Candy Leggett av8ryx@yelmtel.com
Date: Thursday, April 13, 2000 04:14 PM

Looking for death date and gravesite location for George Eldridge born 1833 PA, his wife Elizabeth Hopkins born about 1840 Indiana, and their daughter Lulu C. Eldridge born 1872 MO.

All were living in Schuyler County MO when the 1880 census was taken; they were not there for the 1900 census.

I have a watch fob, with a symbol possibly denoting membership in the GAR, engraved G. E. Kansas MDIV

their son Claude Alexis Eldridge moved to Independence KS in 1900. He bought partnership of Central Hardware there in 1904, leading me to conclude he had received an inheritance by then.

Where in Kansas are they?

Topic: jones, sarah taylor burgett & dau netta estella
From: Grace Petron gratron@yahoo.com
Date: Saturday, April 08, 2000 07:53 PM

Seeking original burial place for Sarah and names of missionary/pastor who became Netta's, referred to as Stella, foster parents. Expect Baptist because she and her daughters were married in Baptist churches. Sarah died ca 1883 in KS in child birth. Husband James J. who farmed for several years in Mitchell county, was in Indian Territory in 1900 with son. Rumor in family has it Sarah buried in Mo with no stone in a cemetery where no records were kept. This burial would have to have been a removal from somewhere else. Netta & one brother born Ft Scott, other brother in Cawker City Mitchell Cty. Any clues? I've done cemetery records and church research in Mitchell Cty. without results.
