Topic: Pearson
From: James Frank Pearson buyerz@buyerzchoice.com
Date: Thursday, August 26, 1999 08:44 PM
My grandfather, James Mark Pearson, was one of 11 children of a traveling mininster, born in Kansas. His Spanish American War Enlistment record states he was born in "Sulpher Springs Kansas" on 9/29/1879. The certificate may have been off by 2 years as the family story is that he lied about his age to join the Navy during the Spanish American War (1901-1904). Maybe he was too old (born 1877) ?).
My question is where the heck was (County) "Sulpher Springs" in 1877-79 so I can
try and find some records. I would like to research all the Pearson's from
that time period and location.

I am seeking descendants of a fellow named E. L. Tennant who was the nephew of Mary Elizabeth (nee Francis) Stewart of Jefferson Co., Indiana. Mr. Tennant was the son of Francis (Franny) Tennant and spouse Mr. Tennant, and his parents were living in Hutchinson, KS in 1928 when Mary E. Stewart, sister to Franny Tennant, died. I have a nice postcard from E.L. Tennant with his image, dated 7 Feb. 1909, sent to Aunt Lizzy in Jefferson Co., Ind. He was in Langdon, KS when he sent the card and I can not find Langdon on a map. E. L. Tennant also had a sister, but I do not have her name, just a lovely picture of her as well. I would be happy to exchange information with descendants of this Tennant/Francis line.
