1895 State Census
for
Sumner County, KS

Note: The handwriting of part of this census was difficult to determine. Please check all possible alternate spellings of your surnames.>

Conway Springs, in particular, was very difficult to read. The census taker apparently spelled some of the names phonetically, either because the person could not spell their own name or the census taker couldn't. Also the census taker wrote in a particularly spread out and undefined way. So.... try sounding out the names before deciding this "couldn't be" your ancestor.

Green cities are now transcribed and are online.

Navy cities have surname indexes.

Red is statistical information included in the census.
