I am trying to locate heirs of Wilburn Fred JONES, son of Fred JONES who lived at Hutchinson, Reno Co, KS. Wilburn md. Betty DELANO and had one daughter, Janifred Sue JONES. Wilburn was killed in The Battle of The Bulge. The family is trying to settle an estate, but need to find his heirs. If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate it very much. We don't really know if he was burin in Hutchinson or not. Is there a Funeral Home that could be checked for me? I think they also lived at Wichita, KS. Wilburn Fred JONES was adopted by Mr. & Mrs. Fred JONES. He was born Charles Wilburn GUTHRIE, son of Richard Curtis GUTHRIE and Rachel ZEHENDNER.

Need information on Albert and America ELLISON, who moved to Reno County in 1885. Their daughter was Mary Jane ELLISON, born 2-9-1873, and died 6-30-1954, and she is also buried in Turon Cemetery in Reno County, Kansas.

I have been told that Iona Isabell TRISLER's mother Jane (VAN KIRK) TRISLER married a man by the name of DAVIS. DAVIS was a Civil War vet with some kind of pension being paid to his wife, Jane (TRISLER) DAVIS. I would be pleased with any help.

Their son, Thomas COOK MAUGHLIN, was a pastor in Stafford, Stafford Co., KS, and then later in West Lawrence, Douglas Co., KS; he is buried in Hutchinson, Reno Co., KS, with his wife Mary Isabelle DAWSON MAUGHLIN.

They moved to Portland, OR around 1919. Della Holmes was the daughter of Charles and Susie Holmes of Labette County. Della was born in 1889 . If anyone has any information on a Hogue/Hoge/Hogg/Hoag family in Kansas, please notify me.

Bert COOK, Mary d young, Jesse d young, Cyrus d young, Leona d young, Will BOWMAN who m Dove GERE, Myron who m Jessie CUTSHAW and Minola BOWMAN who m Sherman MILLER. Any information on any of these appreciated.

(2) Abner Josephus (Joe) JOBES, b. 26 Apr 1869, Cairo, WV, d. 28 Aug 1941, Ogden, Riley Co, KS after living most of life in and around Arlington. (3) Alta May WATKINS JOBES, b. 29 Jan 1967, Loda IL, d. 14 Nov 1923, Winfield, Cowley Co, KS also after living much of her life near Arlington. According to census they owned the farm. Would that be where wills were probated, or would it be in county where they died?? (Alta May may have left guardianship for 20 yr old son). Thanks for any help

In Finney Co. Ks, we are looking for info on Malinda GREENWALT b. May 1858 in Hardin Co., Ky., d. 30 Mar 1912 m. 11 Apr 1868(?) to Jas. Wm GREEMWALT b. 27 Jan 1858 in Sagamon Co., Ill. d. 13 Apr 1912. Malinda and Jas died within two weeks of one another of pneumonia fever. They had a son Chas. Lester GREENWALT b. 1 Jan 1912 d. 18 June 1912 of same malady. Am trying to establish her maiden name. She had another son, name of Clarence L. GREENWALT, b. ? d. 1918 as a result of injuries received in WW I. Would like to know if anyone knows of a news article that was written about Clarence and his death over- seas. Malinda may have been related to the John MILTON's of Reno co., Ks. Any info would be greatly appreciated as we have had no luck with the Bureau of Vitals. Think Malinda, Jas and baby Charles are all buried in the Garden City, Ks. area. There were 7 children born to their marriage we have names of 6. They are: Viola Greenwalt-Kerr, Birdie Greenwalt-Shaffer, Wm. A Greenwalt, Louis E. Greenwalt, Clarence L., and Charles L.

We know of of five possible children: Ethan Allen SMITH b 16 Oct 1873 d 4 Nov 1946, m 1902 to Alta J. Belle (Dartula) MAXEY b 19 Feb 1874 d 29 Mar 1922 Dellmar C. SMITH b 8 Oct 1869 d 13 May 1938, m Iona (Ona) Emma MAXEY b 1869 d 1957 Missing children are Charlie that married a Clara, Henrietta that married a Jay LOVE and possibly Albert W. SMITH. Any information would be appreciated. They came from Illinois (18??) and lived in Reno county.

FAIR, Thomas excerpt from a 1920 letter: (Do not know who wrote this letter nor to whom it was sent. Ben Reynolds) Weir, Mississippi John FAIRand two brothers came from Ireland to Charleston, South Carolina. John FAIR married Catherine MILLER who was of Dutch descent. She was born August 1st, 1791 at Charleston S. C. and died September 20, 1874, age 83 and was buried a French Camp, Mississippi. Her husband died and was buried at Charleston, S. C. After her husband’s death she and her three sons and two daughters moved to Choctaw County, Mississippi, Their children’s names are as follows: Margaret FAIR married Buford Colvin Mary Ann FAIR married Tresevant Carter William FAIR married Edith Bowen Tom FAIR married Julia Ann Winter Richard FAIR married Lina Boyd Margaret FAIR Colvin had only one daughter who married Amos Lassister. They moved to Florida and later went to New York and we haven’t heard from them since. Thomas FAIR his wife and some of their children moved to Hutchison, Kansas. Thomas and his wife died in Kansas. Richard’s wife died in Mississippi. Later he went to live with his daughter in Texas and died. William’s wife died in Choctaw County, Mississippi. His heirs and also Mary Ann Carter’s heirs and part of Thomas’s heirs are still in Mississippi.
