Martha owned 45 acres located 2.25 miles North of the Miami/Linn County line and 4 miles west of the Kansas/Missouri State line.

The 1878 Miami County, Kansas, Residents and Taxpayers, published by the Miami County Genealogy Society did not have any entries for George LAYMON. There was a George LAYMAN. In checking the Atlas, Miami County, Kansas, 1878, also published by the Miami County Genealogy Society: LAYMAN, George (no age or spouse information) in listed in the Mound Township section, but couldn't find his property on the map. While scanning the map looking for George, I noticed a property of Mrs. M.J. LAYMON, owning 140 acres, 3.5 miles East of the Miami/Franklin County line and 1 miles North of the Miami/Linn County line, although she's not listed in the index.
The following is from Family Histories and Stories of Miami County, Kansas Vol. II, on pages 44, Mike and Sharon Oram are in a picture of the children and teacher (Clara DICKERSON) of the Indianapolis District No. 7 school. The year, is not mentioned, but my guess they look like they were in the 1st and 7th grade respectively
