Greenwood County was created in 1855. The county seat is Eureka. Census records are available for the years 1860-1880. Probate Judge has marriage and probate records. Clerk of the District Court has divorce records. Registrar of Deeds has land records. The County Treasurer has microfilmed tax rolls for 1868-1919, available to the public for research. An inventory of county archives was made by the Historical Records Survey (WPA). A county history has been published by the Greenwood Historical Society.
