Am looking for information on the Walker and McQuen surnames. John Bunn Walker and wife Rosa (Toreson) Walker are buried in Tisdale cemetary. John Bunn's sister Leeona Walker married a McQuen and died about 1961or2 (who is buried at Union Cemetery) in Arkansas City. I remember attending the funeral but that is about all. I think Leeona had a son John who lived in Winfield or Arkansas City would be in his 80's or 90's if alive. Also does anyone know if John Hamilton Walker is buried at Tisdale cemetery. Trying to trace their parents. Is anyone looking into this line. Thanks for any assistance you might be able to provide.

My dad recently came into possession of some tapes made with his
aunt at the age of 94. In it she revealed some details of his
grandparents...my Gr-Grandparents, that was previously unknown.
Richard Lane Newman married Edith Mae Luke in 1887 or 1888 in
El Dorado, KS. Richard is reportedly from Kentucky and Edith
from Missouri. Their first children were twins born in El Dorado
on 8/8/1889; Faith Taliferro Newman (my Grandmother) & Ruth Lane
Newman. The next child, Hazel Edith Newman, was born 9/8/1890 in
Junction, KS. Soon thereafter, the family removed to Texas.
ANY information on ANYBODY here listed would be GREATLY
appreciated. Apparently, not much of this family's history was
related to dad or his older brothers and sisters, so very little
is known.
I wanted to post to Cowley County as the new information identified El
Dorado as a possible place of marriage for Newman / Luke. I have since
located the Luke family in Butler County on the 1880 census. I suspect
that the Newman family is in the same vicinity and would like to post to
Cowley...but I have no direct evidence that anyone is in fact in that
county.
