            Jarold M. Hoss, the old veteran who had been ill for many weeks, died at his home in the Fourth ward, on Monday night from dropsy, aged 64 years, and will be buried tomorrow at the Cherryvale cemetery.  On Sept. 15th, 1861, he volunteered in the service of his country, and enlisted in Co. E, 9th Kentucky cavalry.  His second enlistment was in Co. E, 9th Tennessee cavalry, where he served to the close of the war.  He became a member of McPherson Post, March 31, 1890.
