Death of Mr. E. Furniss

 

  Mr. E. Furniss, an old and respected citizen, died at his home in Osawatomie, 824 Pacific, on March 25, 1921, aged 88 aged, 7 months and 2 days.

  Funeral services were held at the home at 2:30 p. m., Sunday, March 27th, with Rev. Joel E. Barker officiating.  Interment was made in Elmdale cemetery.

  E. Furniss was born in Pickaway county, Ohio, August 22, 1837.  He enlisted in Co. A, 90th O. V. I., in 1862 and was mustered out in August, 1865.

  On February 7, 1866, he was married to Mariah Milliken.  In March, 1871, they moved to Neosho county, Kansas, where they resided until 1892.  They then moved to Osawatomie to be with their two sons who were located here.  One son, Hugh died in August, 1908.

  Mrs. Furniss died Nov. 20, 1915, and since that time Mr. Furniss has made his home with his only remaining son.
