Our family is searching for information on ancestors who were killed in a mining accident around Galena KS at the turn of the century(possibly 1915) Their surname would have been Wilkison. We are unsure if it was a coal or lead/zinc mine. If you have heard of any mining accident around that time, we would love to hear from you!
In a 1970 Hutchinson Kansas obit for Mrs Frances Huff it
stated that Samuel Huff married Frances 1939 in
Columbus. I think this was Amanda Frances Babb b 1890
Ky. She was survived by Margaret Wood and Chalmers
Simpson. I would like a lookup for this marriage to see the
info about Frances.
Also a lookup for a first marriage in Cherokee Co . Any
information about these people will be much appreciated.
Thank You, Coral Babb

Samuel W Huff married Frances Amanda ( b 1890 Ky ) in 1939 in Columbus, Cherokee Co Ks. I think Frances was first married to a SIMPSON with her maiden name being BABB. I need the information from both the Simpson and the Huff Marriages. In her obit 1970 two children were listed Chalmers Simpson and Margaret Wood all living in Hutchinson Ks. If there is available 1910-1920 census records I need those also. ANY info about the Babb family is also needed. Thanks, Coral Babb
In 1898 the Hastings Dakota County, MN Gazette carried a notation that "Mr. and Mrs. P.A. ECK of Empire were the guests of Mrs. Paul Lindenmeyer. Does anyone have a family connection that might provide information on the relationship, if any, between these two families. I am assuming this article pertained to Empire, Cherokee County, KS as a Weaver family connection to Lindenmeyers' settled in KS. Any help greatly apprecieated.
