Topic: Devereux Family
From: Donna Ward donna.ward@state.co.us
Date: Friday, June 29, 2001 02:05 PM

I'm searching for any information on Patrick Devereux who came to Fulton as a homesteader in the late 1840/s or early 1850's from Tipperary County, Ireland. He and his wife(?) had at least 5 children: Michael, John, Patrick, Annie (Gorman), Margaret (Keating). Michael married Annie Ryan and their children were Mary (Garvey), my grandmother Julia (Multer), Katherine (Kennedy), Margaret (Gunderson), Annie, Thomas and John. My father Carl Multer believed that the family was very active in St. Patrick's Catholic Church. His mother Julia died in Haddam, KS when he was 6 years old so we have almost no information about the family.

I would appreciate information about my ancestors that came to Bourbon county. Thomas and Rachel (Clayton) Bockover came to Bourbon county between 1870 and 1880. Thomas was born approximately 1819.

Do you have cemetery records or deed records convenient for a look up?

Thanks.

Topic: Samuel, Bertha, John, Pearl TURNER
From: Suzann Holland suzann@suzannsarbor.net
Date: Tuesday, June 19, 2001 06:39 PM

I actually have two separate TURNER lines in my family with roots in Bourbon County.

Line 1 includes Samuel and Bertha Turner, who lived in Redfield from about 1903 to about 1925. Bertha (Woods) Turner was born in 1887, this may have been in Bourbon County as well.

Line 2 includes John & Pearl Turner who lived in Allen County primarily, but spent about 5 years in the late 1920s and early 1930s in Ft. Scott.

Would love to hear more about Line 1 or meet someone with similar ties.

Suzann :)
