HACKETT, SHIPMAN

ANTIQUE98@aol.com Sun, 9 Nov 1997 19:04:40 -0500 (EST)
Researching Wesley SHIPMAN. Thank you for putting Cutler's works on the net. I was able to find my great grandfather who lived in Fulton. I believe he is buried in the Fairview Cemetery, but was unable to locate a tombstone when I visited there. Could you give me some information on where to look for geneology information regarding Fulton and Freemont Township. I know he (Wesley SHIPMAN born 25 Feb 1827 in Indiana) was married to Mary Angeline HACKETT and lived in Fulton. Cutler's works indicate that Wesley had a brother in the area, but no name. Can you tell me how I might be able to locate more information? We visit that area quite often and if there is a library with old settler's information or marriage and birth records, could you tell me where they might be located in Bourbon County? I would like to find his parent's names and any siblings.

SULLIVAN, ?wagon train 1867

Jean Schneider Sat Oct 11 11:35:07 1997
Came across an article in "Old Fort Log" which mentioned an 1867 caravan consisting of 30 covered wagons starting in Illinois and going to Ft. Scott,Bourbon CO,first; from there the road was an angling trail until they reached Neosho CO. The Shawnee Trading Post,(which may have been in Labette CO, Bourbon CO, or Neosho CO), Humboldt and Osage Mission were the closest towns Does anyone have any info re this wagon train or others that came thru this area during the late 1860's? Does anyone know where the Shawnee Trading Post was located? Patrick Sullivan came to Indian Territory around this time, later purchased 160 acres of Osage Ceded land in Neosho CO, married Katherine O'Brien, and raised a family on that land. Any info much appre- ciated. Thanks, Jean
