The connection of my father, Charles Wilton Whittier, with Effingham is that Charles Phylitus Whittier (my grandfather) and his family

returned to the Effingham area after living in Spokane, Washington, and before moving on to live in the Dalhart, Texas, area. While in

the Effingham area, they lived with my great-grandparents, Laforest R. and Caroline D. Van Doren Whittier.
