Obituary of REUBEN NUSS |
Reuben Nuss, 68, Route 2, Russell, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1982, at the Central Kansas Medical Center of Great Bend. He was born Feb. 6, 1914, in Wheatland Township, Barton County, Kansas, the son of John Jacob Nuss and Katherine (Steinert) Nuss. He married Elsie Boxberger Jan. 12, 1936, in Milberger. He was a farmer stockman and an independent oil producer. Mr. Nuss, who was first educated in Liberty School, later was on its school board. He was on the church council of United Emanuel Lutheran Church of Milberger and was a member of the Elks lodge of Russell. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at United Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Milberger, with Rev. Robert Kreier officiating. Burial will be in Russell City Cemetery. A memorial has been established to the church, designated for Martin Luther Fund for Crippled Children. Survivors are the wife, of the home; a son, Kenneth J. Nuss, Russell; two daughters, Mrs. Howard (Joetta) Mai, Russell; and Mrs. Francis (Jolene) Mayers, Great Bend; three brothers, Theodore Nuss, Hoisington, Harold of Russell and Irving of Yakima, Wash.; seven grandchildren, one great-grand child. He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers in infancy. Pohlman's Mortuary, Russell, was in charge of arrangements. |
