Notice of Funeral for KATHARINA "KATIE" MAI |
Funeral services for Katharina "Katie" Mai, who died today at the Russell City Hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the St. John Lutheran Church, with Intern Don Hutzeker officiating.
Burial will be in the Russell City Cemetery. She was born Dec. 30, 1893, in Krazka, Russia, and came to the United States when she was about seven years old. She was a long time resident of the Landon Creek and Bender Hill areas. She married John Jacob Mai June 16, 1913, in Russell County. He died April 20, 1977. She is survived by five sons; Leo, Earlin and Howard, all of Russell, Walter of Great Bend and Clarence of Wichita; two daughters, Mrs. Herbert (Viola) Bender, Russell, and Mrs. Junior (Wilmetta) Deutsch, of Hoisington; a sister, Lydia Niedens, Russell; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Friends may call at Pohlman's Mortuary from 9 a.m. Saturday until 1 p.m. Sunday. A memorial in her name has been established with the St. John Lutheran Church. |
