Obituary of GOLDA THIES
Golda Thies, 80, formerly of 3600 19th, died Thursday morning (14 August 1980) at Cherry Village. Born Golda Barnes Aug. 21, 1899, in Omaha, Ark., she married Fred Thies June 29, 1920 in Russell. She was a homemaker and was a resident of Great Bend since 1920, moving here from Hoisington.

Mrs. Thies was a member of the First United Prebyterian Church, American Legion Auxiliary and Royal Neighbors, all of Great Bend.

Survivors include her husband; one son, Donald, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and two sisters, Mrs. H. P. (Anne) Thies of Great Bend and Rama Simnitt of Kansas City, Mo.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. Loren W. Hickerson officiating. Burial will be in the Great Bend Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the church of the Barton County Historical Society. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Thursday and until 9 a.m. Saturday at the Fryberger Mortuary.
