Funeral Card of EUGENIE STEINERT
Eugenie Steinert, daughter of Wilhelm and Magdelene (Maas) Morgenstern, was born April 15, 1888 at the family farm home in south Russell County. She departed this life on August 1, 1968 (6:00 a.m.) at the City Hospital, Russell, Kansas. Age 80 years, 3 months and 17 days.

A lifelong resident of Russell County, she was baptized and later confirmed in the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Milberger. On November 8, 1908, she was united in marriage to Jonathan Steinert, also of the Milberger community. There were 5 children born to this union, three of whom survive her. They are Elenora Schatz, now of Russell; Hubert of Longmont, Colo.; and Lavern Steinert of the home, 236 East 7th Street in Russell. The first son, Hubert died at the age of 2 1/2 years and a daughter Elfie Wagner passed away after she reached womanhood.

Mrs. Steinert assumed her duties as a farm wife, mother, neighbor and friend in the farming community where she was raised for many years and in 1957 came with her husband and family to Russell where her husband engaged in the carpenter and cabinet building trade. Here, she also centered her interests in her home and family and held the esteem and respect of the neighbors, business people, friends and the membership of St. John Lutheran Church to which she belonged since coming to Russell.

To treasure her memory are her husband and companion for 60 years, the three children; one sister, Mrs. David B. (Hilda) Dumler of Russell; four grandchildren and many other close relatives and friends.
Memorial Service - held Saturday, August 3, 1968, from the Dienes Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. and from St. John Lutheran Church at 10:00 a.m. Pastor R. G. Sedo officiating.
