NAME, DATE OF DEATH: Muriel B. Thurston, 97, died July 29, 2001, at Shiloh Manor, Canton, Kansas

DATE OF BIRTH and LOCATION: Feb. 1, 1904, in Rooks County, KS

PARENTS: Louis and Bertha Camp Dougherty

SURVIVORS: A son, Martin James Netherland, Huntington, Texas; five daughters, Pattie Wright, West Harrison, Ind., Bernetha Letsch, Klamath Falls, Ore., Rita Peterman and Gladys Brockway, both of McPherson, and Alda Lawrence, Onawa, Iowa; a sister, Ada Wannamaker, Russell; 19 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren

PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: Her husband, Philip Sheridan Thurston, two sons, Walter Jo Thurston and Bobbie Dean Netherland; a daughter, Bonnie Lou Netherland; four brothers, Floyd, Harve, Lester and Dale; and three sisters, Grace Dougherty, Elsie Kleinschmidt and Eunice Pooley.
