Obituary of JACOB T. BLACK |
Jacob T. Black was born near
Pleasant Hill, Missouri, June 6, 1854. On March 9, 1890 he was united in
marriage to Chellah Agnew. To this union 6 children were born. The five
surviving with their mother were with their father when he passed away at
the Main Street hospital, Friday, September 20 (1935). Mr. Black leaves to mourn his unexpected departure, his life's companion, Mrs. Black, one daughter, Mrs. Rees Shattuck, of Boicourt, and four sons, Harry, Clovie, Ira and Warren Black. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Methodist church at Prescott, conducted by Rev. E.M. Goss and assisted by Rev. Asling. A quartet consisting of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gifford, Mrs. A. Ham, and Mrs. Harry Rose, accompanied by Mrs. Harry Rose, sang. "Going Down the Valley," and "My Savior First of All." The old friends acting as pall bearers were M. Sutherland, A. Kite, Frank Ross, Frank Black, Tom Strol and Henry Beth. Interment was in the Hume cemetery. |
