Obituary of NANCY ELEANOR "ELLA" PAINTER JACKSON

Mrs. Alfred Jackson Dies

Mrs. Alfred Jackson died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Noah Burkhead, Tuesday night. She was 85 years of age and had been in failing health for a long time. Her husband died several years ago.
Funeral Services are being held at the Wall Street Christian church Thursday. Internment will be in Woodland cemetery at Mound City.

Nancy Eleanor Painter was born near Flemingsburg, KY., March 30, 1843. She died June 19, 1928.
She was united in marriage to Alfred Jackson January 18, 1866. To this union five children were born --Mrs. Fred Heckadon, Mrs. P.S. Cope and Mrs. Noah Burkhead, all of Mound City, Kan.; Melbourne, living in California, and Clifton of Denver, Colo. She also leaves 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Early in life Mrs. Jackson accepted Jesus as her Saviour and from that time has lived a true and faithful Christian life. She found her greatest joy in life in rearing her family, teaching them good morals and Christian principles. A noble worthy life and light went out with her passing. She was ever kind and thoughtful of others. We have many times enjoyed her company and influence. She was one of many dear old ladies the writer has learned to love, and when I go to the homes of her daughters with whom she has lived since her husband passed on about five years ago, we shall miss her greatly.
The last six months of her life she has lived with her youngest daughter, Mrs. Noah Burkhead, Where she and the other daughters did all that could be done to make her comfortable and relieve her pain and suffering.

A wonderful mother has crossed the river to the other shore. Yes, we shall miss her, but we are thinking of the glorious meeting over there, where all our tears shall be wiped away and we shall part no more. --A. Friend
