Obituary of GEORGE MADDIX |
George Maddix Dead George Maddix died at his home in this city Sunday night after a lingering siege of illness which his advanced years made it impossible to survive. Short funeral services were held at the residence Tuesday morning by members of the Christian church, to which he belonged, after which the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery near Trenton, beside those of his brother. He leaves a wife and four sons to mourn his death, besides scores of friends he made here in his long residence. Submitter's note: Buried at Trenton, later moved to Walnut Hill. Grave marker is Maddux. Son William used Maddix spelling. Brother Joseph Allen Maddox, wife Nellie Lake Maddux. Have not identified a fourth son. (See Nellie's obit for list of three sons. Look for a bio at Morgan County, IL.) |
