Obituary of MILDRED HOBROCK
Mildred Hobrock, 97, a long time resident of Epworth Towers, Hays, died Tuesday, December 25, 2001, at St. John Nursing Home, Hays.

She was born June 1, 1904 at Lincoln, the daughter of Peter and Martha McLain Hobrock.

Mildred was never married.
She graduated from Natoma High School, received her bachelor's degree in elementary education from Fort Hays State College, and began teaching in a one room schoolhouse in Osborne County. She then spent the next 40 years as a first grade teacher in Natoma and Haviland, retiring in 1970 and moving to Hays to live.

Mildred was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Hays.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; two brothers, Kenneth and Henry Hobrock; and five sisters, Hazel Hobrock, Winifred Mayo, Hilda Nelson, Elizabeth Griffin and Mabel Robinson.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 29, at Pohlman's Memorial Chapel, Russell, with Rev. Will Haworth officiating. Burial will follow at Natoma Cemetery, Natoma.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, December 28, and from 9 a.m. to service time Saturday at the mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to Kenneth Hobrock Scholarship Fund at Kansas State University, or the Hays Nazarene Church.
