Obituary of KATHRYN R. JOHNSON

Kathryn R. Johnson, 94, Sterling House of Hays, died Thursday, April 4, 2002, at Hays Medical Center, Hays.

She was born July 14, 1907, in Ellsworth County, in Merida and Kathie James Harris. She married William Johnson, Jr. on May 24, 1931, at Hays. He
died December 30, 1995.

She attended schools in Ellsworth County and was a 1927 graduate of Dodge City High School, Dodge City.

She was a homemaker and lived on the Johnson Ranch north of Hays from 1931 to 1998, then moving to the Sterling House of Hays.

She was a member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church and the Order of Eastern Star; both of Hays. She was a former member of the Ivanhoe Club and the Buckeye Homemakers.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; one grandson, Paul E. Johnson, four brothers, Oliver, Carl, Edwin, and Elbert Harris; four
sisters, Maggie Jean Harris, Elizabeth Blake, Myrtle Lindquist, and Alice Rose House.

Survivors include: two sons, Donald Johnson, State College, Pa.; and Daniel H. Johnson, Hays; two sisters, LaVerne J. Harris and Marjorie Hiatt,
both of Salina; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 10 a.m., Monday, April 15, at St. Michael's Episcopal Church, Hays, and Father Jerry Jones officiating, followed by an Order of Eastern Star service.

Burial will be in Mount Allen Cemetery, Hays.
Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Monday at Clines Mortuary of Hays.

Memorials are suggested to St. Michael's Episcopal Church Memorial Fund.
