He owned a meat cutting shop in Greensburg, Kansas. I found this information on a census dated January 5, 1920. I am wondering where I could find further documentation on this. Mary Susan (ANDERSON) CHARLES, formerly of Bourbon County, KS moved with her remaining daughters to Edwards County in the 1890's. Daughters were: Minnie, Maude,"Nina". Her son William "Elmer" was Sheriff in Kinsley. Minnie married Thomas Walton SANDERS and Maude married Alfred BLAKE. Also residing with the family was Amy Gertrude DAVIS, a niece to Mary. Her first marriage was to Bernard Louis FAHLSING, who died and then she married a man named SMITH. I know that she died shortly after I was born, the latter part of 1959 or 1960. She would have been around 45 years of age. I think she may have died in Great Bend, Kansas at St. Rose Hospital.
