Obituary of WILLIAM "BILL" ROBERT BLESSING
William "Bill" Robert Blessing, 76, died Wednesday, February 13, 2002, at Great Bend.

He was born March 7, 1928 at Salina, the son of Arthur and Sadie M. Helwick Blessing.

He married Clarissa M. Zecha on August 25, 1951, at Russell. She survives.

He was employed by N.L./Acme Tool, and later as a production manager for Hartman Oil Co., retiring in 1992.

He was a longtime resident of Great Bend, graduating from Great Bend High School, and was a member of VFW Post 3111, Great Bend.

He was a veteran of World War II, service in the U.S. Army as a Private First Class.

He was preceded in death by: four brothers, Arthur L. Bless, Jr., Bryce Blessing, Jack Blessing and John Blessing.

Survivors include: his wife of Great Bend; one son Gary R. Blessing, Great Bend' three daughters, Lois Drouhard, Ponca City, Oklahoma, Julie L. Mitchell, Great Bend, and Nancy Ramey, Great Bend; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 15, at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend, with Rev. Don Paden officiating.  Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Great Bend.

Visitation is Thursday, February 14, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday from 9 p.m. to time of service. Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, all at the Bryant Funeral Home.
A memorial is suggested to Golden Belt Home Health and Hospice, or Great Bend Humane Society.
