Tracy, Culler, Lucas, Bogart

Would like to find out more about LEWIS U. TRACY and the time he spent in Anderson County, Kansas. Most especially would like to find out about his early life, parents, and siblings. He apparently was born in Wisconsin in 1866 to parents from New York and Michigan. It appears he began working as a "lather" about 1915 (and continued doing so until about 1934), though the 1920 census gives his occupation as a mechanic with a cement company. When did he come to Kansas?

Lewis U. Tracy married Anna Belle Culler 11 August 1886 in Anderson County, Kansas. I believe he may have later married her widowed sister Lizzie May Lucas as her husband Charles Lucas died in 1915. Lizzie May may also have been known as Myriann Elizabeth Culler.

The 1920 census for Colony City in Anderson County, Kansas shows Lewis U. Tracy with his wife May and three Lucas step-children, Jessie, Madge, and Glen.

Lizzie married James M. Bogart 28 May 1929. The 1930 census shows James Bogart, his wife May, and his step-son Glen R. Lucas.

Lewis U. Tracy left Kansas at an unknown date. Then he married widowed Jane P. Hughes Cockle, probably in Texas, date unknown. Both Lewis and Jane later died in the Bay Area of California in 1939 and 1954 respectively.
